Bethlehem Lutheran Church

At our June meeting, Pastor Chris led the Council through the five purposes of a Purpose Driven Church using material that new member classes partake in when joining Bethlehem. Next month, Pastor Chris will lead the Council through the Purpose Driven Life.

We are continuing to review the outcomes desired for each of the five purposes-Worship, Grow, Connect, Serve, Reach-connecting with the vision to bring 20,000 people to Christ by 2020. It was decided to spend time reviewing the ‘Reach' purpose prior to our July council meeting. Council members will be reading the Purpose Driven Church and reviewing notes from the Leadership conference held in May to prepare for a focused discussion at our July meeting.

Next month, Council will be reviewing Bethlehem's financials and projections on an in-depth basis. While our year-to-date offerings are slightly below our projections, expenses have been managed; and we have not had to utilize our line of credit. We reviewed the progress on the Share the Spirit campaign which ends in April, 2009. Thanks to your generous support we are currently on target to meet the $2.65 million pledged.
