Greetings from Tuticorin! I am staying at a small hotel that sits between a bird sanctuary, salt flats, and the Bay of Bengal. Again, it is HOT here, but with the sea so close there is at least a breeze. Salt is a major industry here: sea water is let into rectangles carved into the flats. The water evaporates, and the salt is collected into piles and then bagged. It is back-breaking work, particularly in the heat.
Seminar went well yesterday: good crowd of pastors and Bishop Jebachandran of the Church of South India Diocese of Tuticorin-Nazareth made an appearance. We were all given shawls as a sign of thanks and respect. Pastors came from all over and had to get back for Lent Services which they do Fridays instead of Wednesdays, so we ended at 4:15. Late start, Bishop time, and early departure means we have a long way to go today.
The way the days are working out, and the distance to town - we are well out of the city - could well mean I won't be able to get to the school here. I am pretty over-programmed. I'll see how things work out for this evening.
You continue in my prayers! Blessings and Peace!
