Confirmation Service Projects

Each student needs to complete a minimum of 6 service projects for Confirmation. (This works out to 3 per year.)

These projects can be done

  • with the large confirmation group
  • within the small confirmation group
  • within families
We encourage parents, mentors and other interested adults to participate. Drivers are always needed!

Large Group Opportunities:

What: Donation Drive
When: October 1- 22, 2008
Description: Collect toiletry items from your neighbors for Youthlinks to help homeless youth. Sort and deliver items to the shelter and have a tour. 

Small Group Opprotunities:

Some areas your small group can make a differences can be set up:

Children - Prepare & serve lunch at the Crisis Nursery, Saturday Sunday School at Marie Sanvick Center, Saturday Kids Club in North Minneapolis

Homelessness - prepare, serve & share a meal at a homeless shelter

Elderly - nursing home visit, deliver Easter baskets to homebound BLC members, yard work

Poverty - sort donations at variety of sites (On Call Ministry, ARC, Goodwill, LSS, etc)

Hunger - food shelf work (30 Hour Famine weekend)

30 Hour Famine

FEBRUARY 8-9, 2008

Amazing youth raised $7586.31 for 30 Hour Famine. Prizes should be arriving in May!

Thank you to the 7th-12th grade youth who participated in the 30 hour famine. Senior and Junior High Youth

  • Fed 32 kids for a year at Feed My Starving Children by filling 54 boxes with 11,664 meals
  • 200 sandwiches were distributed to individuals
  • 11 blankets were made and distributed
  • 350 families received Cheerios packed at Second Harvest Food Share
  • Food shelves were restocked at Community Emergency Services
  • 200 sandwiches and 45 bag lunches were prepared for Simpson House Shelter
  • 200 sandwiches and 45 bag lunches were prepared for St. Stephen's Men's Shelter
