Walking with the Patriarchs and Matriarchs
Wednesdays through October 24, 6:30-7:45 pm
Take an interactive tour of the Bible, with Pastor Beth as your guide, as you experience the ancient and present-day land and culture of the patriarchs and matriarchs. Hear how God called out to these men and women in very different contexts. Together we will hear anew God calling out and speaking to us today. Register.
Sharing the Gift of Compassionate Presence

Sometimes we hold back sharing Christ's love with others we know to be hurting or lonely because we are afraid of saying or doing the 'wrong' thing. What the other person may need the most is to have someone truly listen to them in a compassionate and caring way. Learn how you can be that therapeutic presence in someone else's life. Take home practical tips and techniques that you can use again and again to help you focus on being calm, free from distraction, comfortable with silence and 'in the moment' with others you care about. Help Build New Student Housing at Redeemer Lutheran
The duplex at 1813 Glenwood, across the street from Redeemer Lutheran in north Minneapolis has risen from the footings to roof peak.Redeemer Lutheran began work earlier this summer on the duplex which will house Augsburg and Luther Seminary students who will work in the community.
A number of volunteers from Immanuel in Eden Prairie, Community Lutheran of Edina, St. Peter’s, Westwood, Bethlehem and out of state youth groups have aided in the progress.

Time for Prayer Group
The Time for Prayer Group meets on a regular basis to pray for members of Bethlehem and the general congregation. We invite you to join us in this important ministry that meets in the prayer chapel on the second and fourth Mondays of each month at 3:30 pm.
Men's Breakfast on October 20

Please join us for the kick off of our new and improved 2012/13 program year with our traditional breakfast meeting on Saturday, October 20. We'll have the coffee on at 7:30 am, breakfast at 7:45 am. Bring a friend! All are welcome!
Men's shoe collection is underway for local veterans. Bring your donations of new or gently worn men's shoes to the Breakfast on Saturday or to the Bethlehem Gallery through November 4. All shoe sizes and types are appreciated.
Rake, Rattle and Roll on November 10
The HandyWorks fall Rake, Rattle and Roll (a program of the Greater Minneapolis Council of Churches) takes place every year beginning very late October through early November with weather permitting. Once again, congregation member and GMCC Board Chair, Simon Foster, is organizing a Bethlehem volunteer group to do a little Rake, Rattle and Rolling - bagging leaves and raking lawns for at least three seniors in South Minneapolis.
CareerWalk Classes

We are currently in our fourth cycle of CareerWalk, Bethlehem's career transition ministry. We continue to have great participation. Some participants are employed but want to change companies, some want a new career, and some are unemployed or underemployed. Here is the schedule:
