Based at Redeemer Lutheran Church in the heart of the Harrison neighborhood in north Minneapolis, the mission of Redeemer Music Arts Academy (RMAA) is to engage economically challenged urban youth and families in culturally diverse music instruction. Accomplishing their mission is challenging because over 70% of the students cannot afford tuition. Dr. Juyeon Kang, a Steinway artist and accomplished educator, has graciously offered her musical gifts for a benefit concert for RMAA so they can reach the greatest number of children possible.
Lutheran Partners in Global Ministry has been proud to be a partner in a very successful five-year library initiative at 97 schools of the Arcot Lutheran Church, with sponsors supporting the financial needs as well as offering prayerful support and encouragement through letters and gifts of books and resources. Phase Two has already begun with behind-the-scenes planning and preparations. For a variety of reasons, we will need nearly 20 new sponsors of the three-year English + program as soon as possible.
