Brazil Habitat Build: Commissioning Sunday, June 15

Brazil Habitat Trip Commissioning Sunday, June 15

On June 20 a team of Bethlehem members and friends will head to Brazil to help families in need fulfill their dream of having a home with running water and electricity. As we live out God's call to "serve with the strength God provides"

(1 Peter 4) and to put our faith into action, we ask that you pray for the families and for our team.

Each family will pay $1725 for their home, which costs $8450. Half of this amount is paid by a Brazilian bank, in partnership with Brazil Habitat. The remainder is from donations both in Brazil and by Thrivent and Habitat International.

This year we will be working on an island near the city of São Paulo, where there is great disparity between rich and poor. We will be partnering with The Sao Paulo Methodist Church, Dow Chemical Co. and German Lutheran volunteers from southern Brazil.

Team members are: Diane Daehlin, Sarah Dolan, Liz and Will Fifer, Britta Iwen, Andrea McCarty, Marlie Nelson, Theresa Taylor, Greg Socha and Carol Pfleiderer. After our return on July 2, we would be happy to share our experiences with your group.

"So, then, as opportunity presents itself, let us practice what is beneficial for everyone." Galatians 6:10
