NEWS FLASH!!  20,00 people connect to God, each other & their mission in the world!

Minneapolis - January 1, 2020. Followers of Jesus throughout the world shouted for joy today as John and Mary Humana's lives were connected to God. Just over ten years ago, Bethlehem Lutheran set out on an ambitious mission to reach 20,000 people in the Twin Cities metro area with the good news of Jesus Christ, and today they reached that goal. The Humana's story of change is just the latest of countless Christian connections that were almost unimaginable in the early days of the 21st century...

Imagine opening your newspaper on New Years Day a decade from now and reading these words! It's a wonderful, inspiring vision - but how will we do it?

The mission is clear: Connecting people with God, each other and their mission in the world.  The goal is ambitious: Reaching 20,000 new people with the Good News of Jesus Christ by the year 2020.

We embark on this journey together; we set sail into the future to which God calls us. Just as sails catch the wind to move its vessel through the waters, we also need to find ways to harness the power of the Holy Spirit on this voyage. Some preliminary work by Bethlehem staff has identified four tools for this particular mission:

• Technology
• New Communities
• Equipping people to pass on their faith, and
• Resourcing people to use their gifts for their mission in the world

What outrageous and creative ideas might help us navigate God's way forward? How are the tools made stronger by our grounding in the five purposes?  In addition to God's Holy Spirit, a variety of gifts and resources will be needed for this voyage. Your gifts and resources will be essential as we move forward.  Come help Bethlehem get there!
