Thanks from Journey Homes

From a member of the Journey Homes staff:

I was walking into work this morning and saw one of our residents from Journey Homes. She yelled from across the street, "Hello!" with a big smile on her face and when I asked how she was she said "FINE!"  She went on to tell me what a wonderful time she had at the Science Museum yesterday with the folks from Bethlehem, and that it's made her week. She was on her way to attend a training and said, "Nancy, normally I'd be so nervous and anxious about going to this training because I wouldn't feel I could do it, but today I know that I can because of that experience I had yesterday. So on behalf of LSS and the residents, THANK YOU for all you do. You really do change lives.

Here are a number of ways that you can get connected to the wonderful work that is happening there.

  • A small group or a few families could arrange a trip with kids to the Minneapolis Art Institute.
  • Residents would love to have a "Mom's Night Out" to a movie, or dinner, etc. Volunteers could babysit for a few hours (2-3).
  • Mentor resident who would like to learn cooking basics, particularly how provide nutritious meals on a budget.
