Ever have one of those weeks where you seem to be behind a step, never quite caught up?  For me, that's this week!

And then I wonder...what am I trying to catch up to?  The paperwork (more like computer-work...facebook...text) and program or project deadlines, endless meetings?  And why am I behind?  Because sometimes, God's abundant grace links us so tightly to one another that all we can do is put the pencil down (homework, cell phone, ipod) and be with one another, in the present moment, not looking back and certainly no room for forward.

Did you realize that over half my time is spent in direct relationship with parents and students alike?  Hopefully you kids are figuring out that I love ice cream and will always make time for your favorite diners!  Parents, I like coffee too and trendy little joints where conversation is encouraged.  These settings aren't always conducive to cranking out deadlines, but they are so very inviting for God's ongoing work in shaping, challenging and calling us to be in relationships that are grace-filled and empowered by the Spirit.

I encourage you to schedule a week where you are a step behind.  Then put your pencil down, invite to your favorite hang out a friend in need and feel the presence of God bless your time together.
