Build relationships ... and a house! Join other young adults from the Bethlehem community on Saturday, Oct. 25, in completing the construction of a home for people in need, as coordinated by Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity. The service event runs from 8:15 a.m. until around 4 p.m. at the construction site at 644 Dale St. N. in St. Paul. It's the first in a new array of opportunities for Bethlehem young adults to build faith-invigorating relationships through service, study, and social gatherings. (Keep track of all the events and connect with other young adults by joining the Bethlehem Young Adults group on Facebook!)
People taking part in the building project are encouraged to bring friends. Each participant should bring a bag lunch and other snacks. Porta-potties are available on-site. Children under 14 are not allowed on the site for safety reasons. Safety boots are strongly recommended; sneakers are acceptable, but no sandals. Work gloves are a necessity. Wear clothes you won't mind tearing or staining. If possible, bring the following (tools are also available on-site): hammer, screwdriver, pencil, tape measure, utility knife, nail apron, wet wipes, hand sanitizer, and sunscreen.
