Spiritual Direction Opportunities

Starting this fall, Bethlehem will have a monthly spiritual direction group. This will be a time to gather, pray, and reflect on God's presence in our lives and share experiences.

Habitat Trip to El Salvador

July 26-August 3, 2008

In El Salvador, 50% of the population lives in shacks built from plastic, scrap lumber and corrugated sheet metal or in overcrowded apartments.

Habitat Brazil Update

On June 20 a team of Bethlehem members and friends traveled to Sao Paolo, Brazil to help families fulfill their dream of having a home with running water and electricity. As they live out God's call to "serve with the strength God provides" (1 Peter 4) and to put our faith into action, we ask for your prayers for the families and the Bethlehem team.

Women's Day of Service Needs Your Donations

Join women of all ages for a morning of fellowship and service at the Day on Service on Saturday, February 16, 2008, 9:30-1:00 pm, including lunch.  Groups will be assembling health kits, hospice kits and midwife kits which will be distributed by Global Health Ministries and Lutheran World Relief.  Donations are currently being collected in labeled baskets in the Commons. All Bethlehem members and friends are encouraged to make donations to this worthwhile project.
Particular needs include:
~New or gently used regular size bath towels - thin, not plush or oversized
~New or gently used infant receiving blankets
~2 gallon size Ziplock bags

Bishop Mark Hanson on CBS Special

IN GOD'S NAME, a CBS primetime special produced in association with the acclaimed French filmmakers Jules and Gedeon Naudet, will explore the complex questions of our time through the intimate thoughts and beliefs of 12 of the world's most influential spiritual leaders. These diverse and powerful voices offer provocative, compelling and enlightening perspective on myriad issues in our post-9/11 world, including the rise of terrorism, fanaticism, intolerance and war. The two-hour special will be broadcast Sunday, Dec. 23, 8:00-10:00 pm on the CBS Television Network.
