Word for the Day

Take a deep breath and find a little silence within yourself first, then...

READ the verse a few times with a listening heart filled with unhurried expectation.

REFLECT on this question, "What are you saying to me in this verse today, Lord?"

RESPOND to this reading by honestly pouring yourself out to God. Let God hear whatever feelings, thoughts, questions and doubts you may have.

REST in God's Word by simply, deeply being in the presence of God that you have found in your experience.

Week of August 30-September 4

MONDAY

Matthew 28:19-20

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.

WEDNESDAY

Ephesians 1:15-16

I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints, and for this reason I do not cease to give thanks for you as I remember you in my prayers.

THURSDAY

Ephesians 1:17-19

I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation as you come to know him, so that, with the eyes of your heart enlightened, you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance among the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power for us who believe, according to the working of his great power.

FRIDAY

Psalm 8:3-4

When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars that you have established; what are human beings that you are mindful of them, mortals that you care for them?

SATURDAY

2 Corinthians 13:11

Finally, brothers and sisters, farewell. Put things in order, listen to my appeal, agree with one another, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.
