The stories we tell reveal something about who we are. Some stories get told more than others. The story of Jesus holds details that define us, but we often move quickly through the drama of his last earthly days. This year we’re slowing the pace and digging into the details of what makes Christian faith unique: Jesus, fully human, fully divine, dies on a cross for us.
God spoke once and all creation came into being. God spoke again, writes John, and the Word became flesh. The angels may have thought it a strange idea but God’s creative genius knew it was the best way for us to hear his voice. Beginning in January we’ll work our way through the Gospel of John, learning from Jesus and listening for God’s Word for us in this moment of time.
