On June 23, SALT (Seniors Active in Life Together) will offer its next outing to Luther Seminary in St. Paul. The program will be presented by Pastor Katie Langston, who was thoroughly immersed in the Mormon church as a part of her family life. She served her Mission time in Bulgaria, learning enough of the language to present the Mormon cause to those who would listen. Along the way, she began to have questions about some of the practices of that church and stumbled upon a Lutheran church and discovered Grace and a benevolent God. This led her to Luther Seminary and finally to ordination in the ELCA. She now serves New Promise Lutheran Church in St. George, Utah, while also working for Luther Seminary as Director of Digital Strategy for Faith + Lead. She has also recently released a book about her story called Sealed: An Unexpected Journey into the Heart of Grace.
The bus will leave from the Minneapolis parking lot at 10:15 am. Katie is scheduled for her presentation at 11:00 am with a box lunch following. After lunch, we will have a tour of the seminary.
Registration is closed. Stay turned and join us for our next SALT adventure!
