Every three years, 30,000 high school youth and their adult leaders from across the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America gather for a week of faith formation known as the ELCA Youth Gathering and in summer 2022 it is Minneapolis. Event Information:

Every three years, 30,000 high school youth and their adult leaders from across the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America gather for a week of faith formation known as the ELCA Youth Gathering and in summer 2022 it is Minneapolis. Therefore we will be going! This will be an opportunity for current 8th-12th graders. 

The registration deadline is November 14th, 2021 in order to secure the price of our registration cost. There is a $150 non-refundable deposit.

In order to pay the minimum deposit, you must log in to your Realm account. Anyone not logged into their account will be required to pay the full amount.

If other local church groups have small numbers attending, ability to combine groups or look to staying in same hotel?

We actually have some folks from St. John’s that will be signing up with us, so they are welcome to join us. From what I was told regarding hotel assignments, they will be trying to put folks in the same synod in the same hotel.

We must stay in hotel? Is this an ELCA convention requirement?

This is a requirement on their part, not ours. This is their explanation “The Gathering requires congregations to stay at their assigned hotel for many reasons, including but not limited to risk management, logistics, program rotation, transportation, and agreements with the host city and local law enforcement.”

Bus? Is that to drive from/to church to/from the conference?

If we end up with lots of students then we would get a bus to get us downtown and then bring us back at the end of the week, but if we only have 15ish students I will be asking for a couple of volunteers to drive us, so that cost would go away, but it is unclear right now.

Are Meals provided in the cost?

Provided in the cost! We will ask that some spending money be sent in case a student would like to buy any merch or extra food.

For the upcoming fundraising events, what percentage of these products does the group actually get?

For the Simpls Fundraiser, it is between 25-35% and for the fudge fundraiser, it is 50%. Our Simpls fundraiser is live now in November! Simply go to their website: www.simpls.com and place an order of $30 or more, enter the promo code at checkout: CYFSOUP21

Can people just make a straight donation instead of a purchase?

Yes, folks can make a straight donation through giving on the website. 

Are there scholarships available?

Yes! Cost should not be a barrier to someone who wants to go. Please reach out to Ellen if you want to inquire more about scholarships.
