Community Emergency Services (MPLS)
Community Emergency Services is a place where people come hungry and leave hopeful.

CES is experiencing a strain on their food supply. The partners who help keep their food shelf stocked are seeing a decline in the amount of free and low-cost food available to them. Last year, CES was receiving 3-4 tons of food weekly from Second Harvest Heartland. This year, they are receiving an average of 1-2 tons a week.

Bethlehem members can help fill this gap by placing food donations in the grocery carts on the first floor, or by giving a monetary donation with CES in the memo. Due to their food purchase connections, any dollar donated to CES to purchase food goes about 10 times farther than a dollar spent at the store. For example, for the price of one can of corn at your grocery store, CES can purchase 10 cans of corn through the food banks.

Bethlehem also supports CES through volunteering. We have an opportunity to serve on Saturday, June 15th, from 10:00 am -12:00 pm. CES is located at 1900 11th Avenue in Minneapolis. If you are interested, please contact Shari Anderson at [email protected]
