June 16-21, 2019
Known for its rich music, generous hospitality, and great sports teams, Atlanta is also doing great work to address the needs of people experiencing hunger and homelessness. Atlanta became a spiritual center for civil rights activists in the 1960s. By visiting places like the Center for Civil and Human Rights and digging deeper into the legacy of Civil Rights activists, we can better understand our role in history as it pertains to poverty, race, and power. We will worship at historic churches, serve folks in need, apply what we learn about history to our modern day struggle, and have a ton of fun in an exciting urban hub. We undoubtedly will meet God there while we deepen our friendships and foster our faith.

Gustavus Adolphus College
Gustavus is the perfect backdrop for our spring retreat. We’ll play in the field house and pool, pray in the chapel, and eat to our heart’s content in the cafeteria. In sessions, we’ll explore the topic of race. Specifically, this is the major pre-work for the Bethlehem summer Civil Rights trip to Atlanta. Atlanta travelers are expected to attend, but all youth should come and enjoy the weekend. Get away with us to take a breath, learn and laugh.
