Now to the one who by the power at work within us is able to accomplish abundantly far more than all we can ask or imagine, to God be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” – Ephesians 3:20-21

ALL IN: 2024 Commitment Appeal

Since its inception 130 years ago, God has been abundantly faithful to the people of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. In response, the people of Bethlehem have been all in” on living out our mission. Each generation of faithful and generous members has contributed to the collective impact of ministry – within the congregation, in our community, and around the world. Through the loyal preaching and teaching of God’s word, uplifting and exceptional liturgy and music, new expressions of faith for new generations, and deep care and concern for our neighbors, God’s abundance has been passed down through generations.

Because we are people of faith, we see the ways God has been leading us into a new season. You have shared your hopes and concerns for our church. In response, the call committee has been working hard to discern whom God will call to be our next senior pastor, and the staff and council have set priorities for 2024 that will lay the foundation for this new season of possibilities. The focus for next year will include strengthening our spiritual vitality, connecting relationally, and ensuring financial sustainability.

  1. Strengthen our spiritual vitality
    • Offer creative and engaging faith formation opportunities for all ages and stages of life
    • Explore the question “Who is my neighbor”
    • Welcome the use of everyone’s gifts
    • Deepen ties with our mission partners
  1. Connect relationally in deeper ways
    • Foster intergenerational connections
    • Renew efforts to engage with those we haven’t seen post-COVID
    • Practice new ways of embracing our identity and welcome
  1. Ensure financial sustainability
    • Create a culture of gratitude
    • Unify around the mission we share
    • Steward our resources responsibly
