Cultivating a Community of Care within the Congregation

In every vibrant community members care for one another – in ways big and small. Through mutuality, empathy, and compassion, we support one another and each one contributes to the whole.
At any given time, there is someone who needs an extra hand. Sometimes we are at the right place at the right time and able to offer support but there are times when it would be helpful to have additional training.
Rev. Dr. Cody Sanders, Associate Professor of Congregational & Community Care Leadership at Luther Seminary, will lead a session for Bethlehem’s volunteer Care Ministers on October 6, based on his recent book, Spiritual Care First Aid: An All-Hands Approach for Church and Community, in which he explores the art of hearing, the skills of helping, and sources of healing.
Whether you would like to become a Care Minister who works alongside pastors and staff to help provide Christlike care for another member of the church family, or would simply like to deepen your skills of compassion, you are welcome to join us for a light meal and presentation.
