Anna Carter Florence fell in love with Scripture the year she became a Sunday school dropout. Uninspired by the mechanics of finding one’s way around a real Bible at age nine, she convinced her parents to let her sit in the car and read a modern-language novel version of the Bible.
Decades later, she’s written an ‘abecedary’ of the Bible with 52 imaginative reflections on familiar and obscure stories from both the Old and New Testaments. ‘A is for Alabaster’ will guide our exploration of the Bible as we see how the stories fit into the big picture and reveal something enduring about the God who refuses to give up on us.
