Maundy Thursday invites us into the intimacy of the Last Supper, reflecting on the new commandment to love one another as Christ has loved us.
We recall the Last Supper, when Jesus washed His disciples’ feet and served his last meal, setting an everlasting example of humility and servant leadership. This day reminds us to embrace the call to serve one another, reflecting our shared mission of love and community.
Maundy is derived from the word “maundatum” or “commandment”. Jesus gave a new commandment, one that is to be found written not on our courtroom walls but on our hearts: “Love another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” —John 13:34 NIV
