Event Information:

In the Middle Ages, monasteries helped preserve knowledge and culture for the sake of the greater community. Saint John's University in Collegeville, MN revived this tradition that had been absent from the Christian world since the European development of the printing press in the fifteenth century. The Saint John’s Bible affirms this community's commitment to the study of Scripture, to the book arts and to educational, artistic, spiritual and scholarly pursuits.

In the tradition of great medieval Bibles, The Saint John’s Bible is monumental — two feet tall and three feet wide and 1,100+ pages organized in seven distinct volumes. It is impossible, of course, to bring that large Bible to Bethlehem, but on Wednesday, May 22, Tim Ternes, Director of The St. John’s Bible will be here to talk about the enormous process it took to create this Bible. He will show slides and samples of the materials used in it. We hope you will join SALT( Seniors Active in Life Together) on May 22, 2024, at 10:00 am to hear his presentation.  A box lunch will follow. Cost is $15 per person. Register today- you won’t want to miss this!
