The film explores the life of Emma Benoit who survived a suicide attempt that left her paralyzed but propelled her on a mission to use her painful experience to help other young people find hope and stay alive. Become familiar with popular myths about youth suicide and why it is important these myths are de-bunked so you can improve your own understanding about the risks of youth suicide. This program is designed for interested adults, parents, high school-aged youth, and members of Mental Health Connect’s faith communities. It is sponsored by Bethlehem’s Mental Health and Addiction Ministry Team and the Parents of Beloved Teens group.

Become familiar with popular myths about youth suicide and why it is important these myths are de-bunked so you can improve your own understanding about the risks of youth suicide. Gain important insights from the story of Emma Benoit and how it has changed both her life and the lives of others. Discuss the key themes of the movie and what you can do to reduce youth suicide. The presenters and facilitators for the live portion of the program are experts Chris Caulkins, EdD, MPH, MA, Suicidologist, Caulkins Consulting, LLC, Forest Lake and Melissa Conway, LICSW, Mental Health Consultant, St. Paul.

This program is designed for interested adults, parents, high school-aged youth, and members of Mental Health Connect’s faith communities. It is sponsored by Bethlehem’s Mental Health and Addiction Ministry Team and the Parents of Beloved Teens group. There is no cost to attend the program, but registration is requested to ensure enough food and beverages are available.
